Partnering with Taiwan’s hardware ecosystem to set new global runtime cybersecurity standards

Italy, 16th Apr 2026, Grand Newswire - Taipei, April 15, 2026 – Exein, a global leader in embedded runtime cybersecurity, today announced the opening of its Asia-Pacific headquarters and Taipei office in Taiwan. The new hub will serve as a regional operations and technology base, working with Taiwanese and APAC partners to export a new global standard for runtime cybersecurity across the IoT ecosystem.

With the advancement of international regulations such as the CRA, device-level security has become a core issue and a global industry concern. Exein aims to leverage Taiwan’s world-leading, strategic position in the global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors to promote the development of runtime technologies and strengthen the IoT security ecosystem. This enables Taiwanese and APAC manufacturers to meet security by design requirements with confidence, supporting access to global markets such as Europe while embedding protection directly at the device level.

Addressing CRA requirements: building security from the manufacturing stage

The number of IoT devices continues to expand rapidly, with connected devices worldwide expected to exceed 25 billion by 2030. This growth also reflects on the attacking surface, as one-third of cybersecurity vulnerabilities are associated with IoT devices, making endpoints a major entry point for cyberattacks. Exein solves this problem by providing AI-driven runtime protection technology that is directly embedded into devices and firmware. The technology detects anomalous behaviour and potential threats in real time during operation, while maintaining performance impact below 1%. This capability enables manufacturers to meet global cybersecurity regulations and, at the same time, compliance requirements.

Taiwan as a core hub: driving APAC and global expansion with local ecosystem partners

The Asia-Pacific region has become a key growth driver for Exein, currently contributing nearly 50% of the company's global revenue and achieving fivefold growth in 2025. In this context, Taiwan, with a central role in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain, has become a critical gateway for the deployment of device cybersecurity and a centre for exporting global standards. Through the establishment of the APAC operations centre, Exein will further strengthen collaboration with local chip suppliers, ODM/OEM manufacturers, and system integration partners. Security mechanisms will be integrated into product design and development processes, enhancing device security capabilities from the source.

Working with APAC giants to set new industry standards

Exein is committed to establishing a new global standard for embedded security through strategic collaborations across Asia. A key pillar of this effort is the integration with MediaTek Genio, which provides IoT manufacturers with native, real-time threat detection and automated vulnerability reporting. Recently, Exein has also entered the server market through a collaboration with ASPEED to integrate Exein Runtime into their BMC SoCs. As ASPEED holds majority of the global BMC market share, this partnership cements Exein’s role at the heart of the world’s data centre infrastructure. Advantech and AAEON are among the other giants invited to the ceremony,  as well as government representatives, demonstrating Taiwan’s critical role in the company's growth.

Gianni Cuozzo, Founder and CEO of Exein, said: “Expanding into APAC marks a major step in Exein’s global growth. Taiwan sits at the heart of the world’s technology supply chain, and establishing a presence here allows us to work more closely with the companies shaping the next generation of connected devices. As IoT continues to grow globally, security must scale with it as a foundational capability. Our ambition is to make runtime cybersecurity a global standard, and APAC will play a central role in that journey.”

Caesar Chuang, VP of Asia Pacific & Japan, Exein, said: “For manufacturers in Taiwan and across APAC, meeting regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act is becoming essential for accessing global markets. Exein enables this transition by embedding security directly into devices, helping companies meet compliance requirements from the start. At the same time, we are building a strong regional ecosystem, working with partners such as MediaTek and ASPEED, as well as leading OEMs and system providers, to make runtime cybersecurity a standard capability across the supply chain.”
